Worth it in what way? In my 4 years of using it, I only got like 3 messages at much. Tried to make people switch to it while it was still new, no one did. After da evil wezt hating on russian they had an insane amount of russian users increase. Same when Turkey (apparently) banned Discord. If your interest is the community, it's still full of LGBT people EVERYWHERE. If interested in privacy, too late, you got cloudflare fucking around or at least it used to be the case. Self-hosting? Yeah, it's nice.
So...Worth in what way? What do you want from it?

I just want a platform to create my own room/server to hangout with like-minded people who aren't reactionary political extremists on either side. I prefer it because it isn't enshittified like discord, and easier/user-friendly for my autistic brain than jabber/xmpp
