a video costs money to serve so it makes sense you want to protect it.
if movie sites for example just served their urls from easy to download urls like catbox links, then every competitor would just steal it, or worse try to hotlink it with a proxy to steal their bandwith or some bullshit. can think of ways.
so serving large media content is costs money compared to an image. the people that are investing to serve the content for you, will let you stream it for free, but letting you download it easy isnt in their benefit because the webpage has ads.
its still usually trivial to copy anything anyways using curl, network requests to get your authenticated request, and a terminal.

also its quite trivial to setup an automated script using google colab projects that will download for example anime from a website to a cdn for you to then serve from your own

and if you want to figure it out go for it
you basically just need to visit each episode page, copy the request auth data then let the colab run, download everything, keep data in spreadsheet
