pretty satisfied switching from gentoo to devuan on my laptop for work. had random issues with sddm and some other drivers on gentoo, which was annoying when I just needed the thing to run. gentoo is still great tho, love the use flags and all that, but on a laptop it’s not that important for me. I keep it on desktops and some older laptops where I don’t rely on them daily.

Paid outright, it was 1950 euro, but I got it like a year and a half ago, could be cheaper now. But like the other guy said, I also think it's best to not buy Intel, I have not had any issues, but AMD is more stable it seems these days.

Same laptop with AMD was way more expensive at the time so I just went with it, has 3 year warranty and after I will probably try and sell it, as I don't trust that intel chip is not slowly cooking itself, even undervolted as I currently have it. Other than the CPU the laptop is insane, built like a tank, performance and cooling is more than good, not gamery and the screen is sick.
