What do you do with these Raspi clusters

I have several raspberries around the house for automation. I don't see the point in clustering them.

Europoor cope
Better to buy a x86 board in those cases, pi is good if you have small 24/7 services but even then you will need a better more reliable storage medium.

This
Just seems pointless especially when one is enough to handle a ton of things without needing redundancy the biggest thing people need to worry about is backups and reliability

Not for me I use mine for
>Notification server and redirect
>portainer manager
>search engine provider
>UPS control to shutdown my devices
I still have a fuck ton more I can fit on my 4b 4gb
These are helpful devices to handle "glue" aspects of your network

yeah my general rule is 3 raspberry pi's should be enough. one on permanent duty for some shit you need. one to use now and then for random shit, and the last one just in case the 2nd one shits the bed and you really need to use one for some shit

It is fucking retarded the data is what needs to be monitored, the price for one of these fucking things are too much to justify it.
I can't even justify anyone buying the 5 if they can find the 4 used near pre pandemic pricing

You reminded me I have pi pico sitting in a desk drawer. What the fuck can I do with this?
My old boss bought a bunch because he ignored us when we said they weren't suitable for what we needed.

You disassemble them and use one or two Pis for other things while the rest sit in a drawer.

Do you use heatsink/fan for your Raspberries?
I want to use my rp4 as a 24/7 web crawler/web scraper, but i'm afraid it might shit the bed if i do that without using a heatsink

Literally what is the point of doing any of this?
You want more power just build a fucking PC.
This is like the e-reader faggots who complain they don't have 60Hz+ color screens when fucking tablets exist...

This. Also clustering adds overhead to any workload and the Pis can barely run anything as they are, so what's the point? It's just jewtubers shilling their silly pi clusters and normies falling for it.

Literally a PR meme, you're better doing a VM cluster with a real pc.

The only cluster that made sense at 'small scale' were:
• pre-2000s when PCs were crap
• PS3 clusters
• Athlon II clusters for render farms
• GPU mining clusters

What is the point of these clusters? You can have better perfomance and save money by using a 10gen Intel CPU.

Learning mostly. Maybe simply having fun.
You could also argue a low power solution with redundancy as well, but for applications that need redundancy you don't need more than one or two extra.

Raspberry pi is pimarily a learning and hobby tool. Just let learn and have fun.

yes but you dont need
the models where the ram is on top of the cpu make any heat sink ineffective anyway
