Tips on maintaining quality with wan 2.2 14b i2v using lightspeed LoRA? This gen was 8 steps per pass with a cfg of 3.5. It suffers from loss of small details. I'll post a comparison gen without the LoRA.

You don't need to be source compatible with CUDA to succeed, that's this industry's big problem in a nutshell, thinking that CUDA is somehow necessary. CUDA succeeded where OpenCL failed because CUDA was a good enough API to access vastly superior compute hardware where OpenCL was a not-nearly-good-enough API to access ranges of hardware, some of which didn't even have a stack, so how the fuck do you port your C++ like CUDA onto a plz-no-branches GLSL with knobs on language? You don't.
And AMD tries to make ROCm but wastes too much time trying to be source compatible with CUDA and limits the hardware and licensing far too much.
Apple on the other hand made Metal Performance Shaders and a surprising amount of shit got ported to it and the performance and RAM count is good enough for the money that people are even writing code to work around the limitations in apple's hardware. That should tell you CUDA isn't the be all and end all, if someone makes an open source API that's properly feature complete that runs on hardware that isn't missing critical components, CUDA is a dead man walking.

On my old 3060ti it was, I can do hiresfix gens in like 10 seconds but generally I rapid fire un-upscaled versions and only embiggen the good ones. A similar process for video is impractical since even small videos take so long. Maybe I just have too download all the models for storage so I’ll still have everything to use with better hardware ten years from now. Safekeeping after big daddy government bans everything.

1 1024x1024 cfg 1 flux dev 25 step image on 3060 takes around 30-35 seconds with nunchaku

idk i dont have exact benchmarks because if a model doesnt have nunchaku support i dont bother using it because im a poor faggot vramlet, i only use a model after nunchaku supports it

I haven't tried any made by others yet, but I've gotten really good results training a couple photographic single-subject likeness ones as tests over on TensorArt since they added Qwen training. Learns faster than Flux without the same kind of anatomy degradation seeming to ever happen at all or at least happen easily. Dim 16 / Alpha 16 / Cosine with Restarts @ 3 restarts / model learning rate 0.0005 / no TE learning rate / AdamW / batch size 1 with 2 gradient accumulation steps has worked well for me there so far, doing 10 to 30 epochs or so (with just 1 repeat for each).

i find that the distilled qwen 20 steps fucks up the lora i trained, much better 50 steps on non-distilled. and 8 or 4 step lightning fuck it up even more.

I'll elaborate a bit for you since I'm not at my rig right now. Typically a "good" prompt for me is at least two or three paragraphs long. I'll have multiple/many tags for the medium, composition, focus, pose, face, character, background, and overall "mood" (like "dark, night, streetlights...") A good rule of thumb is if there are at least 100 tagged images on *booru, then you'll be able to output something similar. I've had luck with characters with only ~20 tagged images as well but obviously the more the better. Don't forget: noob also has e621 in it, so use that as a guide as well.

I think the average WAI gen favors LoRAs instead of artist tags. IIRC the author has only a single example of a prompt with an artist included. I think many are under the assumption that you "don't need as many tags with WAI" as you do with noob which is simply wrong. My point is simply you need to load the fuck out of the prompt if you want to use a model that doesn't produce (ai-generated:1.2) outputs. I actually enjoy finding as many tags as I can to describe what I want. To be honest, the only thing I've noticed that clip struggles with (outside of spacial positioning) is the typical "make her hair blue but not the background". Even then you can easily circumvent that with negatives or more specific positives or cheeky conditioning. I've never noticed clip neglecting a tag unless it's barely (or not) represented in *booru.

Wan2gp is pretty stable especially with current v8.0, it may be barebones with lack extra features and samplers that forge/comfyui has but it still gets the job done. The dev behind it pretty active, check the wan2gp discord. You need a better gpu imo, 16gb vram and 64gb ram is the new entry point.
