Anubis' anime pic simply doesn't look professional. A short flash of anything amateurish and unrelated to what you want to see raises a lot of flags. Cloudflare flashes their searchable name and corporatey logo for you to look if you don't know what it is.

It has no name, nothing for you to search for after it disappears in a split second before you have to chance to read what it says. The main issue is that with the mainstream-ification of Japanese 2D culture it's nearly impossible to find sincere fans out in the wild instead of those that simply wear the skin as an avatar to "fit in" with their predecessors. Once upon a time it a anime avatar DID mean a true weirdo and likely expert in a field was talking, but these days it means absolutely nothing. They likely don't even watch any anime or engage in any niche Japanese video games or other media. It's truly bizarre.
