Rocked this bad boy from 1991 to 2023: https://files.catbox.moe/odv3k0.jpg

Then the straps disintegrated (can't believe they lasted this long) and I've been using some generic analog clunker I found in the shed ever since. I think I'm gonna get me a new Casio (If I can't find proper replacement straps) before the year's out.

I would remove the grid and make the clock hands black or at least non metallic. This is a clock to use with ideal illumination, forget night time. Sometimes is harder to read the analog clock and end up reading the digital one.

The French did, it's actually pretty nice aside from also having to change the length of the second which would make switching awful for decades. I had a phone widget with it for a little bit and while it was a significant improvement over 2x12hr time it seems much harder to switch to than just using 24hr time.

If any anons are looking for "actual watches" (i.e not digital or smart,) some of the best entry level watches come from Seiko. Pick out the one with the features and style that you like, all of them use the exact same movement. The movement is very common and reliable, you can get it serviced at basically any shop.

I can't stand carrying a slab of glass with me everywhere. Before this G-Shock, I'd wear cheap Casios from Walmart, but the wristbands would always give out and the plastic face would scratch badly. Pic related has been going strong for 4 years and not a scratch on it, even with a puppy trying to gnaw on the thing. I do like the look of analog watches better, and I can also read them better from a distance, but my ears are super sensitive, and I can't stand the ticking.

This form factor doesnt play nice with my small wrists (6-6.5). I even consulted one of those sites thats gives you the measuire in milimeters of the adequate sizes for your wrist. For putting a name on them, the OP watch is like a "tall watch" (more height than width) and those looks awful on small wrists , so my options are square-ish ones or even "small ones" more width than height.
Right now im short on money, but I was thinking of a casioak, but the base model is too big for me. Casio released some smaller ones and they branded them as "female watches", come on man, I think its a big marketing fuckup, because the "smaller" casioaks are bigger than "unisex" ones, some models are ven bigger than the "baby-g's" which is the small g-shock for women.

watches that print CHRONOMETER on it are just fart-huffing nonsense but in ye olden days a chronometer denoted a particularly accurate timekeeping device used more to see how much time has passed than what time it currently is right now. they were used for navigation at sea and in some countries had to be certified

these days though a 10$ walmart watch is probably 10x as accurate as a period "chronometer"

I tried to learn how to do this and then I realized all my local churches just kinda ring their bells whenever and dont seem to really care about doing it on time. that said in my city every day at noon they fire a cannon from a historical fort and that is always pretty bang-on(heh) at noon.
