Where does all the money go?
If AI is booming and need GPUs and datacenters and engineers, why does finding a job become more difficult?

Scaling is not linear - you don't need a million sysadmins to manage a million server racks.

But surely the investment ends at someone's pocket, right? Where is the money?

Seriously.
People don't realize the most expensive cars 25 years ago were like $250k.
Now there are multiple cars in the millions. And these people are buying them like Pokemon cards.

These billion dollar data centers usually have at most 100 employees each, often significantly less. The production of the parts is almost fully automated, xAI built their first version of Colossos in less than six months...this just isn't a labor intensive industry and so investments into AI means almost no jobs except maybe dog shit tier data monkeys cleaning up ai output or training data, or compare/rank them for rl...

AI may increase productivity, but it's in no way creating more job opportunities.

it doesn't have to. do you not remember when musk demanded a yearly salary from Tesla that was higher than literally all of the revenue it had ever taken in since its founding?
