start with debootstrap, install the extra crap you use including xorg, graphics drivers and the daemons that you run with your autistic tiling wm, and done.

I would compile linux with only the hardware support I need for my machine and only install the libraries and software I use. Everything would be statically compiled. That would get me 99% there.
