I need help getting into my veracrypt. I have located all 3 keyfiles i needed (stupid i know) and I know the basics of my password but i've legitimately forgotten what it was exactly, and due to me being silly/paranoid i didn't write it down.

So, I know its a phrase, let's say it's Chan

and I know I wrote it down in a special way, like
ChanCHAN

but this could also be:

>ChanCH4N
>ChanCHAN
>ch4nCH4N
and what-not. The actual password has about 3 variations on what it could be - but here's the actual difficult part.

There's 4 symbols on either side. I know what both of the used ones are, but not the actual order. I tried getting chatgpt to write it out for me but it tarded out and just wouldn't give me a correct answer.

How can I basically hack into my own vault? I can manually write a list of every possible password (it's just a lot to keep track of and would take a while) so hopefully you guys can give me a way to automate it.

hashcat is able to target veracrypt containers. if you can read bash scripts then you can probably edit this script for your keyfiles and PIM + give it a wordlist generated from `crunch`

If you don't keep your 4chan folder in a VC volume behind a 64+ character password and at least two keyfiles(ALWAYS use keyfiles) then you're not 4channing in the right way.
Then again, if you showed a court of law my 4chan folder, you'd likely get a deadlocked jury in a case because at least a few jury members would become allies to my points of view in a very bad way for society.

You've gotta save your pass. Save it in an obfuscated manner. A simple means is hiding the key within a fake key. All you have to know is where the real key starts and ends within a massive string of text characters and go from there.

make a python script to generate a list of every possible password and try to decrypt the container. You can accelerate it by doing it on the gpu with vulkan compute shaders
