There are no words in existence that describe how much I despise vibe "coders"

Someone is mad that their years of coding experience is worth slightly less than a wet toilet paper roll.

I'm whatever on vibe coding. AI tends to make things that are inefficient and riddled with tiny bugs that it can't detect. Or it hallucinates and gives you nonsense merged from multiple languages/frameworks. At this point, you still need deep programming knowledge to make solutions that are fast, feature complete, bug free, and bloat free.

I hate that they have turned AI, something that was originally an interesting and complex recreation of human consciousness and reasoning, into "throw data into a statistical black box and hope the result is good". Not only is vibe coding a bastardization of regular coding. But creating AI in and of itself is effectively vibe coding and hoping the AI comes out right. They took something super cool and made it lame and gay.

The development of AI is much more random than people think, the algorithms weren't developed from first principles in philosophy of mind.
A random guy at the University of Bremen came up with the attention layer and randomly it worked well. At this point it's either transformers or nothing, there are no realistic alternative algorithms.

This. I'm a no coder who has been playing with AI to test it's ability to crack out bullshit projects, and it tends to eventually flop back and forth creating the same bugs while fixing others. Constantly 2 steps forward one step back. If you don't at least understand what errors it's making and offer solutions why it's making then you get nowhere at all.
It's not possible to complete a real project purely vibe coding. You can make bullshit personal projects and toys, but not something usable by anyone else or with any real purpose.

I find the ones who pay them as employees are worse. fakeass workers who use AI to steal money of any kind piss me off
I wish them a very get sued bc of no basic security measures or some shit

I had a janky website to track medication because my gf and I needed to make sure we didn't double dose anything. Once chatgpt 5 came out I fed my shitty code into it and vibe coded what I wanted and it made it look much better. I worked through the bugs and now have a decent web app that has multiple tenancy if I ever go public with it
