Switching to Signal
hey, i'm really tired of using messenger, not only because it's zucc shit but it's a horrible app in general
how do i convince my friends/family to switch or install signal without using blackmail like "im here now, if you wanna talk to me, install this"?

>Signal uses a centralized computing architecture, meaning all user communications, including messages, voice calls, and video calls, are routed through Signal's own servers.
So you're sick of one internet land barron and you're just going to move to a different internet land barron.

From my experience, convincing normalniggers to something else is a bad idea, just stay on messenger and signal that you are also available on other apps.

as much as i agree with "everything glows" it's way easier to put my "trust" into signal, where they have proven on numerous occassions that they don't keep user data than it is to trust zucc with anything

but i stated that messenger just fucking sucks, i can't send videos, images get compressed to shit
and it's overall badly desgined jeetslop

you can convince them to install it but they won't use it because they don't know anyone on it, and they have no reason to use it
I tried harder than you could imagine to get my friends and family to use it but Messenger is just too convenient for them
our only hope is a grassroots movement that miraculously gets a network effect going

is it really that bad?
maybe i'll just choose to be demanding then
if somebody REALLY wants to contact me, they will do so, either trough my phone or an app i choose

you either choose or other people choose for you
somebody told them to install messenger
now i choose to tell them to install signal or just call me on the phone
i think that's fair is it?

anon, this has been the same problem since AOL Instant Messenger
Why don't you just IRC like someone suggested earlier?
Why do you do this to yourself?
>Get excited about new walled garden
>Move to walled garden
>Become irritated by the walls
>Get excited about new walled garden
>...
Like, in 3 decades, you still are doing this.

do you have any suggestions for IRC?

People are stubborn, so you have to be patient. Pont out the flaws of messenger when they inevitably appear and sell signal as a solution. Also explain why you think its superior when the opportunity arises.
>>106358376
If they install it simply message them exclusively on it. Even when the message you on messenger use signal to respond
