Nobody who actually does real work "wants" to work with women in particular, which isn't to say they're against it, it's just not something people actually care about. The company I work with has an entirely separate team actually doing UI design. To be clear, these people just make the UI in the sense that they decide what it should look like and how it should work, they DO NOT do any programming at all. The "frontend devs" then get the design handed to them and they have to actually implement whatever the design team made.

If you were competent, your competence would speak for itself. You wouldn't need help from others, because you would be able to do your job on your own. And if anyone did condescend or chide you, you could make them look stupid.

The fact that you are asking this question at all means you need to get good. People shouldn't be obligated to include you because you are a woman. They should be obligated to include you because you are a good developer. Get competent and then display your competence. Write clean, efficient code. Write something so technically demanding they don't understand it. Be the person people go to when they need help, not the other way around.

"i screwed up my local environment again, please help" might get an eye roll if it happens too often, "where do i find the openapi spec" should not. if it does, your colleagues suck and haven't internalized that they are paid to do a job, which entails working with other people

Because we are used to women dumping their work on us. If you ask your question, and it shows you didn't even try to solve the problem yourself, it's obvious you're going to just pretend to "collaborate" or something while we do the actual work for you. Happens every time.
Of all the female colleagues I have ever worked with, only one woman 20 years older than me has ever been worth a shit at any of it. She can actually use SQL competently. I found this so refreshing, it turned me on and I decided to have sex with her.
