writes and reads fail randomly on my 8 year old nvme ssd. lucky my data is on a raid . just accept ssds dont last and should only be used for the OS/Game Drive

try using the secure erase feature, see if that brings life back into it.
arch wiki has a nice page for the nvme command. If you're using debian or a debian based distro just make sure your nvme package versions are near enough the arch ones before copy pasting commands.

my sabrent rocket 4 4tb started showing signs of failure 5 months ago and sabrent tried everything in the book to not give a warranty replacement
luckily bezos gave me a full refund
