>Yes, goyim. Buy an entire new PC because that one you got between 2015-2018 doesn't work with our new OS.

Fuck Microsoft. This is the most rigid and strict update I've ever seen. They're so concerned with security that they put all these "requirements" into it that basically any older PC isn't compatible with it. I'm not running out and buying a new $1,100-$2,000 PC just to run Windows 11. I'll just take my chances with not receiving updates for Windows 10 after October. Fuck it.

Where can I buy parts that don't support windows 11? Some anon on /v/ claimed that new motherboards don't even run windows 10.

it was probably easier to lock windows 11 behind a feature that will only be in CPUs that are actually strong enough to run it than make an OS that can run on your grandma's core2duo

We've been over this a million times already.
You can
1) Make sure that TPM is enabled in bios. This is like the main reason why your pc isn't supported if it's like less than seven years old.
2) Make an install usb with rufus where you can toggle off the hardware requirements.
3) Use Windows 10 iot ltsc which has support until 2032.
4) Use linux kek who am I trying to fool, why would anyone want their OS as their second job.

You need to make sure the motherboard has TCPM 2.0 or some shit. You can look up Window 11 requirements, but a lot of earlier motherboards didn't include it like at least back in 2015 or so.

I wanted my turn to bitch about it. Everyone else got their turn.

I have a Ryzen 7 3700x; I don't feel like it's that ancient. The security requirements for Windows 11 don't have anything to do with the GPU/CPU I thought? I believe it's locked to your motherboard primarily. You can have the latest CPU/GPU but it won't matter if your motherboard doesn't have what Windows 11 needs. You can "trick" Windows into skipping the security check and letting you upgrade to Windows 11, but you won't get "all" the updates, which probably isn't a big deal I guess?

They're not, but that's what they say to us to avoid saying "We hate customers who don't buy stuff every 2years and we hate everyone actually. We will put everything the money lords want us to put in our OS"

But yeah use another OS on a usb or something

Hell, I'd fucking get a Macbook if they weren't so fucking expensive. It is Apple though, so can't really expect "cheap" from them. I suppose I can wait till Cyber Monday or some shit and see if they run sells on them. The cheapest one I can get is $700 for the Macbook Air, but I really don't NEED it. If it dropped down for a sale, like maybe $500 I might get one.

You misunderstand, I want to make sure I can build a PC that
1) works with 10
2) DOESN'T work with 11

just turn off the tpm in bios
typically the only thing that doesnt support w10 on new motherboards is wifi 7

works on my sandy bridge laptop from 2011

I'd stomach W11 much easier if it wasn't full of common use cases where you need two clicks for something that all previous Windowses did with one. Just a little bit of extra work to do the same thing, to remind you constantly that this is a downgrade that MS forced upon you against your will.

Its because Recall can't record everything you do an send a copynto Microsoft on older PCs. That's it. That's literally the only reason. Everyone knew, but it was confirmed when Anons figured out how to bypass the system requirements and the only feature that didn't work was Recall.

I'm worried about my PC being more susceptible to ransomware/malware because all I use is Microsoft Defender, but if other anons are telling me it'll be okay then I might just roll the dice.

Only normies use Windows,
so whatever

Let them suffer, I don't care

ransomware and malware are mostly targeted at celebrities and companies. They don't care about poor randos like you and me. They can also be avoided by just being smart online and always thinking twice about what you're downloading. Like if you have a doubt launch the dl in a VM and see what happens.
If you want you can always get a 3rd party AV subscrition like malwarebytes or something else after october if you wanna be extra safe. I might just do that too, idk yet.

You just missed a good deal anon. Best Buy had them $200 off at the beginning of the month. I got a 24/512 Macbook air for $1199 by combining that sale with tax-free weekend. Macs pretty much never get cheaper than that.

I don't need anything like the M3 or M4 chip anyway. The cheaper Macbook Air would be fine for me, but if it was on sale last month then I did miss out. We have the holidays coming up so maybe it'll go on sale again. I'll just have to keep my eye on it. The M2 chip would probably be more than enough for me and what I use the internet for. I don't do video editing or coding, and honestly if you aren't doing business or some kind of animation/scaling/coding/drawing/film/design then you don't need an M3/M4 chip.

Winiggers deserve everything they get at this point
I hope they make it even worse
