well I think I got the hang of it for now. Interesting to see the differences in operation, the generated images seem to be only stored in my browser's temp folder, and then when I find one I like I can 'download' it to my downloads folder. The old way just stored every single thing you shit out, I have tens of thousands of garbage images from back then.

on the left here, there used to be an 'outputs' folder that had everything in it and it would grow and grow, and on the right is my temp folder with a shitload of files, I have a 3090 and am making 12 images every 10-12 seconds. After closing both SD and firefox I can't get back to those 100 bad sushi images the way I could with old auto1111, so I think they're gone.

upscale1 -> + noise -> more aggressive scheduler -> faster sampler -> samplercustomadvanced -> upscale2
keeps the image, adds details, sometimes too much (with a heavy denoise you can see a young face turning wrinkly and old in seconds)
the initial sampler also gets extra noise tho, to make complex things
i dont think you can get coherent tiny details without some extra noise
can be quite moody tho

'god rays' is definitely what I thought, and is a very commonly used phrase. surprised it didnt reproduce the effect. 'fairy light' could maybe work. 'volumetric lighting' is another one, but may correlate with a more cgi aesthetic. could even try specific wording 'diffusing canopy light rays'

Honestly, to be totally truthful, I'm not really a fast food guy. I've eaten at a lot of restaurants, so I guess I'm more of a eating/dining out rather than fast food guy if that makes any sense. Like I would never really crave a hamburger or fries from McDonald's or Burger King but for sure I'll go to some bar and grill or a steakhouse for a hamburger even if it's mediocre. I know that they say fast food is addicting and hyper palatable, but I can't justify either ordering from or going somewhere for a 1.9 ounce beef patty. It's not even worth the gas in the car.
