Stopped reading there.
Get Heliboard from f-droid instead for an open source clone of gboard.
Swipe typing requires downloading a closed source library from someplace else, but I think it was linked on their github.
It also supports multiple languages simultaneously without switching, which I know some keyboards annoyingly don't.

The autocorrect isn't quite as good as gboard's though, but I got used to it after a few weeks.

the thing is 90% of android keyboard there sucks and literally just clones of either aosp or gboard (goy). yes, swiftkey is bloated now but there's really not much alternative to it. also what do you mean the FUCKING SPACES are SHIFTED and not in the center for aosp based keyboard?. currently using older version of swiftkey that is less bloated than the current one, all the copilot shit doesn't work which is nice. im not sure if the autocorrect work on the super old version to it, but it works fine here. every other keyboards needs to stop trying to copy aosp design and shit, material literally isnt even that good and every key position sucks.

Spyware since Microsoft bought it but it's so good. Can type gibberish and it will correct it to what I wanted to write. Been using it for more than a decade at this point I believe

Look at Unexpected Keyboard. It's especially good for doing sysadmin shit. Picrel is it with the Workman layout but it obviously has qwerty, dvorak, etc. All those characters in the corners are accessible by swiping from the main key, so you have a lot of functionality.

as much as I want to shit on M$ it is pretty good and has a lot of functionality, I like how customizable it is, though because I have a flagship smartphone I never had any performance issues so an user with a lower end phone might notice that kind of issue desu

damn actually this thing is so damn good, but the lack of autocorrect kinda made me slow down a bit but re correcting myself is faster here than every other keyboards as the auto repeat rate can be decreased as low as 5ms. other thing is it kind of lacks is a clipboard manager, since the system clipboard manager sucks, and i think i haven't been able to hide the symbols yet, like as in nano, where you could have minimalist view with minibar instead of the full ctrl+g panel. i would love to learn this keyboard more if it has the ability to hide the numbers and things, they're kind of a mental burden, on swiftkey also already has that since long ago. and this keyboard even supports transparency which is cool.

On modern versions of android gboard has local learning mechanism via android system intelligence and private compute services. This is literal data hoarding tool

Seconding this, it just werks. Only complaint I have is the autocorrect while using swipe is pretty shit. It's also missing quite a few languages but that's more of a missing feature than a complaint.

I use this for Emacs and shell. It biggest downside is a lack of an autocorrect.

Technically source-available, I think. It has a donation nag in the settings, and the license says that you can only distribute forks for non commercial purposes and not distribute any fork with the donation nag removed. Their reasoning behind doing this was that they didn't want low-effort commercial forks of it loaded with ads spamming their way to the top of the Play store.

It is a nice keyboard though, I use it. The offline speech-to-text is nice.
