So this is just a random thought but let’s say ATH actually becomes a good tracker in 10+ years. Wouldn‘t the fact that poonit3d doesn‘t log IPs and allows people to sign up with VPN be a huge security risk? Right now nobody gives a shit about their tracker but once they reached the top they‘ll inevitably be a target. It would be incredibly easy to infiltrate their tracker. You can‘t even ban invite sellers/buyers because they can just buy a new invite right away. There‘s nothing that stops bad actors from getting in again. You got banned for ratio cheating? Ghost leeching? Said there are only 2 genders? Selling invites? No problem, just buy an account or an invite. Isn‘t that incredibly stupid?
I know lots of people don‘t like it that trackers log all of your data but it is necessary to make sure that people who shouldn’t be on the site stay out. Remember the Reddit post where GGn staff caught him lying after he invited his brother for the 2nd time? Staff only knew because they log on what profile you go. Unit3d doesn‘t do any of that. It will be impossible to moderate the site. Rn this ain‘t really an issue because its easy to get in but wait a few years and people will do all kinds of stupid shit. Accounts and invites will be worth more once it gets harder to join. Even now there‘s nothing that stops a banned user from joining again.
