Like other Microsoft products, they realized selling a product once that people could use for 10 years made less money than selling it constantly (subscriptions) or building in "features" such as ads and telemetry that could generate continuous revenue in other ways. This is all facilitated by expansion of ubiquitous broadband internet and gains in data center performance. Anything "as a Service" was a mistake.

Last usable Windows. :(
Based Windows 7 users are hated here though.

Beautiful. Ironically I wish this theme existed for the real Windows 7.
Linux isn't a viable solution (to me) because there are too many Windows software that WINE can't run, sadly.
But how is it possible to have this cmd prompt with c:\ in Linux???

Because there are no drive letters in Linux and other Unix operating systems unlike the Windows and DOS-based operating systems

Might be an .bashrc modification to have "C:\" just to look like DOS prompt

looks great but you have to do too much shit to achieve it and some stuff feels uncanny and buggy

You could have an Windows virtual machine in the Linux. But not for 3d gaming and resource-intensive video editing production unless you do an complicated GPU passthrough.
