Framework 16 Gen 2 premieres Aug 26th
What we hoping for?
I'm probably gonna get the discounted Gen 1 unless Gen 2 is way better.

My great grandfather didn't vote for the NSDAP just so some basement dweller would call me a semite for not consoooming overpriced electronics.

3 years on any Dell or HP business product.

The company advertises itself as "fixing consumer electronics," the warranty for business purchases is 3 years anyways

For Framework? Do they even have a business page? It looks like you need to order by contacting their sales team. My HP desktop came with 3 years and I didn't need to jump through hoops to get it ordered.

It could get a discount, but don't be surprised if it doesn't. The tariff bullshit happened and they ate the cost when they were shipping the new 13 inch frameworks/main boards.
Probably looking at a slightly more expensive framework 16 and the old one stays the same price.

Who the fuck is actually getting hit by tariffs? I got a PC from China, no tariffs. I got a Framework Desktop, no tariffs. I got an HP computer, no tariffs. I was even ready to fill out one of those tariff exemption forms, but I just never got any additional charges.

The Whitehouse is bragging about getting $70 billion in the first 5 months in tariff revenue. It's getting collected
>I got a PC from China, no tariffs. I got a Framework Desktop, no tariffs. I got an HP computer, no tariffs.
There's always carve outs and they seem to be changing weekly.
When the new 13 inch frameworks were shipping it was no tariffs on full PCs but some on PC parts. Framework sent an email saying they were getting charged for some.
>I was even ready to fill out one of those tariff exemption forms, but I just never got any additional charges.
You don't get to fill out an exemption form. It doesn't matter what it's for. It gets paid at customs, sometimes the shipping company charges you/the shipper extra for shipping and that's how it's paid. In some cases people have had their shit just left at customs in a shipyard somewhere. FedEx will pay on your behalf and send you a bill. It depends on the shipper.

Yes, this is what I expected. There was an exemption form so you could get reimbursed if it was something that wasn't supposed to be hit by the tariffs, but I guess they got their shit together and didn't charge me for it.

looks like all the people saying "DURR BUT YOU PAY FOR IT" on the tariffs were wrong.

They were right though. They have collected tariff revenue and it has made the shit we buy more expensive. Worst part is we are still paying more money for shit that's made by bugmen slaves and their labor hasn't increased in price much. The extra money we pay is to give to Israel and to pay for sex changes in Africa.

We stopped doing that, now we just give it directly to Israel so they don't release the Epstein list.
