Ironically this was likely written by a zoomer/poltard (I had to search to this "Lisa Frank" to know who he is) who finds anything pre 2010 stuff gay. Old internet and software were more appealing with some negative stuff included (drivers and issues). People didn't call styles in names because things were not corpo filled soulles back then so people didn't care about such things. They were pleased. Zoomers cheering and appreciating retro stuff is good, might will push corpos to return the good stuff.

What was corpo filled? Shadowy things probably happened in the background but not in a way that would be noticeable for the average users/gamers. Windows wasn't in the way with ""recommendations"" and mandatory updates. Visual styles were appealing. I mean at this point it's natural that even zoomers find old style more appealing.
