>Alright, but you know you can configure KDE to look and behave exactly like Gnome, right?
Of course. I've done it. But that's the thing - if I like my layout to be like this (and I do), I can just... you know... use GNOME.
>I'm pretty sure KDE is lighter than Gnome too.
I don't care about lightness. I'm not running a toaster here and don't mind my computer actually, you know, doing stuff.
>And if you ever find that some behaviour gets in your way, that you could be more efficient if something was different, configuring that to work like you want is quick and easy on KDE, while on Gnome either it's impossible or at best yoi're relying on some extension developer who might get bored of Gnomes bullshit and stop maintaining the extension.
I've been running primarily GNOME for a few years now and haven't had that problem. I run Debian, so an update isn't going to be introducing that problem at any point.
KDE is fine. I'm not a hater at all. I have it on my lighter laptop, nicely configured to work just the way I want it. But I prefer GNOME personally.
I like that both options exist.
