sat on my computer playing games and being a cringe sperg. whine on 4chan about how bad the world is and how oppressed I am. wrote a couple of functions that have basically already been written by other people because i lack mathematical knowledge to solve any REAL interesting problems, that will change hopefully. been a complete embarrassment and disappointment to the human race. if I don't accomplish something before I'm 40 I will probably kill myself, if I can resist the urge to kill others or myself earlier.

made my own compiler, specifically a lexical analyzer, finite automata and other shit i'm forgetting in accordance to my own language

Rewrote GPT2 because I wanted to figure out how it works. I also lost any interest in LLMs after that, and regret not spending the time playing Elden Ring instead.

So, that's why Unix is so shit.

The PDP-11 provided memory management and pre-emption utilities in hardware, the amount of work the Kernel had to do was smaller compared to writing an OS in x86 real mode. These days, x86 processors provide a lot of the same hardware features compared to the days of 8086-386
