Same, the new update is killing the battery for no reason they are really amplifying the forced obsolescence by software bullshit, someone should sue the daylights out of them again because they are doing this bullshit again
We know what you’re up to Apple you’ve done this before and it was proven in court.

is it that bad? 80% over 2 years is pretty typical considering 4-5 years is when you hit 50% and need to replace it on phones
of course, now you run into the problem where you can't do it on your own because disassembling it to get to the battery is like 5 mini-game puzzles

>We know what you’re up to Apple you’ve done this before and it was proven in court.
It was known as far back as the fucking iPod, they just got a slap on the wrist for it.

Why would they stop doing this when it would cost far more to fix the problem than they would ever be fined for doing it?

The price of water resistance, since normies keep dropping their phones in stuff.
Anonymous No.106399458 >>106399483 >>106410755
>>106399383
Water resistance is the EXCUSE. The reality is that these companies do NOT want consumers to know what they threw away. I think if zoomers knew I used to come home and instantly swap my battery out for a 20 dollar backup that lived in the charger, their brains would break. 20 years of "progress", and we have "wireless" (magnetic) charging instead, and the second your battery dies your phone becomes a paperweight.
Anonymous No.106399483 >>106399518
>>106399458
I lived through that era myself and phone batteries just had short lives back then (at least during the early smart era like the original Motorola Razr). The only phones that really lasted for a long time were those 90s megabricks or really basic small Nokias and that was because all they did was make calls or send text.

Proprietary charge cables also made things an absolute pain in the ass. It seemed like every phone had a slightly different barrel size, so you couldn't just share a cable with someone unless they had the same phone as you.
Anonymous No.106399518
>>106399483
Again, these were only issues for retards. Mini-USB was bulky and everyone who wasn't apple switched to micro-USB, until then barrel jacks and proprietary ports made sense. I never had to charge my phone on the go because you could keep a backup battery in your pocket and swap in a fully charged one each morning. Outside charging only became a thing with bloated internet browsers and shit batteries that couldn't last more than a couple of hours of use.

>Water resistance is the EXCUSE.
i think its worth it for the water/dust resistance when i used to do laboring in the summer my phones would get ruined from dust ingress. i have never killed one from water damage though although i dont see why they couldnt make a flat back panel that screws on and uses a good gasket. samsung used to do an active line of devices that had a clip on back and a gasket but they were shit and water still got past the gasket so screws are probably needed to provide good waterproofing, its not even that hard to replace batteries on modern phones you just need to be gentle and it takes a bit of time well worth the tradeoff imo
