I've lasted over 2 weeks on it now; over twice as long as any other distro I've tried. I think I may finally be able to stick with Linux now.

I had to get rid of that sickly green colour though; but the minty teal dark theme is lovely.

I don't hate it, but it's just a strange middle ground to me. Same with Ubuntu. An OS that tries to mimc the safe feelings of a curated windows or mac without going all the way to it, but also not fully committing to the same degree of needing to know your OS like some other distros do.

I like mint but god NEMO file manager is a GARBAGE file manager. It's so slow compared to pcmanfm. It loads everything slow, who thought that was okay?

Why didn't they just take pcmanfm or even thunar and rename it to "files"?

Cinnamon already reuses the MATE system monitor and many other things so why do this?

I use linux mint MATE though.

Using this thread as tech support
I updated Ubuntu and suddenly my WiFi card is no longer recognized. Tried disabling it and re-enabling it in the BIOS. I then uninstalled Ubuntu, installed Fedora, and it still had no network support (even Ethernet). I then deleted the partition entirely, created a new partition, still no network support.

What gives? My computer just won’t allow Linux anymore? Or i have to use a USB WiFi card or something?

Dumb thought - are you sure your laptop doesn't have a wifi key?
I had a computer with one of those once. Hit it by accident and it caused all sorts of havoc until I figured out the problem.
Something you did on one install shouldn't affect reinstalls or even installs on a different system. Even if there is no key your wifi card itself might be having unrelated problems.

Caja (the NIH syndrome file manager they develop for MATE) works fairly better than Nemo, even. Haven't used any of them in depth, but i don't see why you couldn't implement whatever niche feature Nemo has over Caja as a plugin and get over this. It did made some sense back then when Caja was very new and Nemo was the stablished stable choice, not now.
