it's not actually "in the kernel" as much as the failures of the programming world would like to believe. rust is relegated to modules that serve the kernel. it's like a white man that owns slaves and the slaves can't sleep in the house, they have to sleep in the barn. that's rust. and it also speaks volumes as to how much of an impact rust has had when the very corporation that sit on its "board of directors" have done literally nothing with the language except for small mediocre tools and promises to "rewrite" literally anything they can think of in rust - and that isn't even happening. what an embarrassing farce.
