Is the solution for online chat PETSCII BBS's?
It seems AI-proof enough. You could always use various techniques to attest that the client is connecting using a real C64 too.

There's a big scene already. You can get a cartridge with an ethernet port on it. Or even Wifi.

The "solution" for online chat is to starve the brain rotted masses of anything that might make them like it honestly

>no images
>no videos
>no phone access
>paid access only and require an IP from a western country
>even if they VPN, requiring paid access will still filter retarded poors

fuck knows what anyone would do except for exchanging information but my lack of an idea is probably due to going too long without any meaningful version of the internet

What's the problem with the idea? Can you explain the technical issues or are you just mad because you can't?

It is entirely theoretically possible to create a chat bot served over telnet. I made a prototype but using Wofram engine a few years ago for math, but I know it would be nothing to spin-up a local LLM that users could chat with.

Social media problems aren't technical problems, they're sociological problems. When you played around on a Commodore 64 with your 1200 baud modem back in the 1980s, everyone on the BBS had a three digit IQ. There were almost no women so attention whoring was kept to a minimum, plus the audience was small and mostly people in the local area with similar values and interest to you.

Just use dialup

After seeing the type of creatures that inhabit the Connections Museum, I suspect that what you find on any modern dialup system is going to be very different than what you would have found in the 1990s.

There's something like a dozen of them running the place. It's very weird.

Well it used to be important infrastructure, around which many people used to have to work. Now it's prime autism fuel and it can't be oerated on hobby scale WITHOUt autiosm, so really, it's not that weird at all. Just different kind of autism one would expect.
