holy shit tech support is so fucked

>can't connect new google tv streamer to network
>try usual troubleshooting, power cycling, not working
>call ISP
>connected to someone in India who can barely speak english
>I ask to speak to someone different since she can't understand the instructions she's giving me
>she says no
>ask to speak to her manager
>she says no
>I give up and try calling google
>different indian
>also useless
>call back to ISP
>3rd indian
>Heavy breathing to the point I question if he's jerking off
>also useless
>gives me a phone number for "advanced tech support"
>phone number is for a scam medical device sales for old people

how the fuck did India convince the US that this is worth paying for

If anyone has advice on getting a google tv streamer set up please let me know. It's just hanging on the wifi connect screen.

So the problem here is the fact you have a shitty ISP and you're using tech from an Indian company?

god damn you jeets work fast when you have to defend yourselves on the internet

why can't you take that same work ethic to actually fixing people's problems

How am I defending anything? I don't have a shitty ISP staffed by Indians and I don't buy products from Indian companies like Google, because I know they're all shit.

Literally not my problem, plenty of smaller ISPs in the states, if you live in a shitty area with shitty utilities then fucking move.

name one utility company that doesn't outsource their tech support
I'd love to find one

>>106397337
i'm not expecting any actual help lmao. just ranting. I've been googling and trying shit all afternoon, I'm not smart enough to fix it. the google tv streamer help page mentions disabling access point isolation - I can't find a way to do that in my router's settings, so I was hoping tech support would be able to help. that was my first mistake.

stop pretending that the majority of companies in this country haven't outsourced their tech support to India, that's the point of this thread- we want to know WHY

wtf
If you only have a router, you wouldn't generally have an access point, jfi. An access point would usually connect to your router. And if you do have one, just disconnect the fucker and try connecting to your router instead first.

I wonder what other blind spots you have in your life that can't see until it personally effects you? This is how we got into this mess, a slippery slope of retards who can't see the problem until it's too late.

Aussie Broadband
Not that this is useful information unless you live in Australia, but I hope you can at least enjoy the mental image of calling up your ISP for tech support and hearing someone with an Australian accent.

>can’t figure out how to use name-brand, commodity tech
It’s really weird to complain about Indian tech support when you are also, in fact, Indian.

it's just a name. on a wifi router you could see it called "client isolation"
