A cpu like that would be enough for 99 percent of users, even for most gaming.
People are still using 15 year old cpus like the i5 2500k.
People greatly exaggerate how important cpus are. It's mostly ram that's limiting.

not really, I used an i5 2400 until just a few years ago, but the motherboard failed after 10 years or so. it worked perfectly fine for everything I did

I'd say 8 gb still is enough on windows 10 iot ltsc, but 8 gb really doesn't work on windows 11 any more.

Because ayymd has already moved into the "resting on its laurels" phase that intlel was in during the eternal 14nm era because they already got everyone thinking they're the gods of processing. They'd rather only release their high end chips.
