It's based on an RPI4 compute module, so im going to assume the graphics WiFi doesn't work without nonfree firmware.
But im curious if its possible to use other modules instead.

Those buttons look mushy as all fuck.
Like the kind you'd see on a calculator.

Are they hard plastic, or soft rubber?

It's soft rubber, but that's not related to the topic. Is there a more free as in freedom computer that you can buy new in 2025?

that sounds absolutely dreadful to use the gamepad controls with, and especially to type on.
Does anyone make replacement buttons to fix that?

How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go?
RISC-V computers exist.
Some of them are free as in freedom down to the nmigen HDL

this one for example is more like a microcontroller but it technically is magnitudes more powerful than a PDP-11 for example
I'd compare it to an arduino and you can do tons of shit on an arduino

If you are not so much of a purist, there are tons of real RISC-V computers from chinks (thanks trump)

There's a RISK-V version of the uConsole. It might be worth it to consider getting one

Can it play porn? I look at gay stuff

there's no GPU and it runs at 1GHz so you're not getting software decoding either
so no
you could probably play DOOM on it though

oh yeah it uses the Allwinner D1 SoC which is closed hardware
not that it really matters
