if i play more than a few seconds of something, i can only quit mpv by sending it a sigkill otherwise it will just hang forever

it would be much more useful to auto generate chapters of boring and interesting parts based on heatmap data instead
probably not going to bother

I assume this thread is still about yt-dlp
Oddly enough the VPN/Proxy detected message disappeared on a third try. I've tried it for a 4th time now and it still works.
The only thing I have is a firewall.

I'm trying to download vimeo videos in 1080p but height/res don't seem to work. Atm I'm manually doing -F for each link and copy pasting the 4 digits that appear after hls-stream etc etc. Surely there must be a way to specify 1080p, using bv downloads 4k which I don't want.

there is probably a way. but i don't bother with learning format selection syntax because i simply parse yt-dlp json data directly which gives me maximum flexibility.
for example, to get "fastly" 1080 video url from vimeo:
yt-dlp --cookies cookies.txt --skip-download --no-playlist -J $vimeo_url > info.json
jq -r '.formats[]| select(.height==1080) | select(.format | test(".*fastly.*")) | .url' info.json

nothing happens on each, in the past it used to read the tag of the file and converted from there to your target-trc

Anyone able to tell me what the "go-to-way(s)" are for tard wrangling yt(-dlp)?
Mostly asking cuz of the "ARE YOU A BOT!?" faggotry, less so age verification as that's barely a nuisance.
On one side cookies seem to be a must have to make sure you're not a bot, but then git talks about PO Tokens, but those aren't a 100% guarantee to solve the bot problem either, which makes me wonder what's the point to begin with.
