Uh, hello!? You just disable it in regedit. Like duh, everyone knows that. You just need to install a third-party tool or go into your registry to do it. Or just use the command line. Come on man, this is such basic knowledge. We’ve all been doing it since we were kids (Windows 10), am I right?

By the way, Windows is still the gigachad OS because it’s comfy and easy to use unlike Linux, where you have to use the command line and configure everything.

you gotta be deliberate about your updates

do your updates. reboot,
check for updates again, reboot
check for updates again

If no updates after the 3rd iteration, then disable updates for the maximum amount of time in the update control panel

when its time to update, you'll start gettting notifications, at which time you can delay updates for more time, or you can do them then.

it's not that hard
reboot

Sleep mode is much more efficient. Especially if you're using an older PC that takes a while to boot up. Plus you'd have to organize dozens of tabs over and over again if you shut it off. Updates are extremely annoying.

Ha, ahahaha. No. Sleep mode is convenience at the cost of efficiency. 8-10 hours on a low power mode vs no power mode isn't even a contest in efficiency, especially if you have a laptop where over/undercharging is a risk.

>Especially if you're using an older PC that takes a while to boot up.
>Updates are extremely annoying
Yes, the only benefit is convenience. Not needing to wait for updates or boots. Although, if you run Linux it tends to boot and update quickly anyways.

>Plus you'd have to organize dozens of tabs over and over again if you shut it off.
Every browser has a setting that remembers your tabs on shutdown. This is a non-issue.

An OS requiring you to use a registry editor instead of the settings menu is a betrayal of user trust. They could easily put it behind an "advanced settings" menu but they won't because they hate you
