I unfortunately bought into the whole "spatial computing" meme when it came out, because I really thought it would be good.
Now all I have is a paperweight that I only use for watching TV and movies once a week on the weekend. Don't get me wrong, it's by far the best TV and movie experience I've had, but... really? This is all it can do?
It's not a "computer" at all no matter how much Apple markets it to be. It's a fucking VR iPad, completely locked down and only has 1-2 usecases. Gaming and productivity are not either of them. Computers are only real computers if they have a terminal and can compile and run programs, with no restrictions or workarounds.
All this time I was looking for the wrong things. HoloLens, AVP, they are all approaching from the wrong perspective. The true solution for "spatial computing" is running X11 or Wayland on a PC with the VR headset as the output. This way you can run both 2D and 3D apps in a complete VR workspace. And you actually have a terminal and a compiler, instead of retarded locked down proprietary Apple bullshit. SimulaVR (X11) and WXRD (Wayland) are the two main examples.
