Poisoned data behaves similarly to steganography - tiny incomprehensible changes to exact pixel values carry meaningful information. Loosing the exact pixel values loosed the data, in this case - the poison.
This defeats all adversarial models, on a conceptual level. The only slight downside is the cost of blurring the image - however, that’s negligible when compared to the cost of actually training the model (both tasks are efficient to do on a GPU or a TPU, so no extra equipment is required).

It statistically doesnt work, it's basically an AI model trained to break certain set of parameters by adding certain noise that only works for those parameters, to train this noise-injecting model you need an existing model to break and how much it breaks will give you the function which you have to maximize. It doesn't work for pretraining models.
Of course, I don't expect artists to understand any of this, they were probably drawing porn of their teacher or some shit in highschool math class

I already addressed that - the cost of blurring is negligible on a GPU/TPU, which you would have anyway because you’re training an AI model. Besides, blur+sharpen is just an oversimplified example to avoid derailing the thread into a technical discussion - in practice, cheaper and more reliable methods of removing the adversarial noise do exist.
Furthermore, you would only have to clean poisoned data. Even assuming no cheap detection method exists, you could safely clean only the images scraped from likely poisoned sources. Assuming your heuristic is mostly reliable, model quality wouldn’t be significantly affected even if many artists start doing this, which they won’t.
In practice, adversarial noise is only effective against uninformed hobbyists training a LoRA against a specific artist who uses it.

In the end, it is a matter of supply and demand, and image generation's efficiency and ubiquity is ironically self-deprecating, it's effect on authentic drawings is constant and non-scaling, adoption is unlikely to increase now, and people who commission artists will unlikely stop doing so. You are never going to make any money with your gens simply because of how accessible they are, and the decreasing number of artists (a big stretch) and the decrease in authentic data will only make things harder.
AI art is a nothing burger, I wish I could say the same about LLMs though.
