Who the fuck uses AM5? it's been a shit show since the beginning. It obviously is a 'beta' gen leading up to AM6 which will be the real upgrade from AM4, which AMD keeps supporting because it's their real current gen.

I didn't have a desktop before, so the answer is yes compared to a ryzen laptop. but I never owned a 2600 I recommend getting something better as I think one gen upgrade isn't big enough.

For some reason the single thread performance on non X3D chips are better, which is what I look at when buying a new cpu, as well as TDP

Using a specific (not the same one as the PCIe slot at least) M.2 slot will cut one USB 40G in half (x2 instead of x4) though or vice versa.

That's the weird thing.
Took a little over 10 years from the first gigabit chipsets on the market for it to be standard on anything but the bottom end of equipment.
It's been a little over 15 years since the first 10GbE base-t NICs and it's still limited to high-end devices.
They came up with 2.5Gb and 5Gb later over issues with ancient cat5e cabling but as far as MB vendors are concerned it's just a way to segment. 10Gb is pretty much endgame for consumer networking.
