i wanted to like mint so badly. it felt really good, everything worked so well. then out of nowhere, the video window of retroarch was fucked. the top of the window was cropped weird, and if i resized the window all around in a circle the whole picture would eventually come back to view. idk. linux.

Mac's UI peaked with Mountain Lion, it's been downhill since then.

I booted up an old ass Windows XP machine (offline box for an ancient industrial printer) and was blown away by how fast it was, on an IDE spinning drive and everything, maybe half a gig of RAM if that, pretty sure it was 32 bit version. From power on to desktop in under 10 seconds. I forgot it was that good.

gaming is the one thing i've given up hope on for this platform. my mac is great for work and hobbyist stuff, but for games i have an aging xbox and a switch 2, valve's steamOS should replace the former eventually and also cover strategy games which is the last bit of gaming I use MacOS for, EU5 not coming to Mac is rough.
