Parents coping by blaming their childs suicide on an AI company instead of taking a hard look at why the teen actually wanted to kill themselves.

Same issue like blaming guns instead of asking why a kid would want to shoot up their school in the first place.

Like seriously people don't just kill themselves on a whim and certainly because some fucking app told them to. Honestly if you want to kill yourself its about as easy to figure out how to do so effectively as searching porn. This is just bizarro world school shootings: there's something the government wants banned, they find someone mentally ill enough to kill themselves, law shenanigans happen, thing gets banned. Addressing the circumstances that would cause a teenager to kill themselves requires complete restructuring of the government, that can't happen because the line stops going up. Line MUST go up.

The problem with AI, and computers in general, is they are "do what you tell them to" machines. And if you tell them to engage and encourage your mental illness, that's what happens. If you tell them to be racist, that's what happens. If you tell them to be your sexbot, that's what happens.
But a computer by itself does nothing, so how is it the computer's fault?

It'll just prove once and for all that AI is a bubble and nobody is using it for anything of value other than cooming and RPing with imaginary spouses, and ruining every search engine by letting people take the easy way out by letting AI do their critical thinking for them.

yep. very true. instead of addressing depression, community involvement, isolation, etc. which their solution to is SSRI's which cause the zombie shooting state in the first place... they just want to ban your ability to defend yourself and the one thing that prevents USA from becoming full-on serf cattle.
