My last IT offer was senior IT support on site for Dell at Boeing Aviation on one of the air force bases here. It was 35 miles away from me, so 70 miles each day.
The offer was for $12/hr.

The real issue with entry level jobs is that are generally long hours. If you want to progress from here (got to start somewhere), then you'll have to find time and energy to study in your free time. To "get ahead" you have to maintain 2 full time jobs (IT desk + full time study). Put this on top of whatever life commitments you have and golly, it's to avoid burnout. But I'm sure you are way too smart to ever have to contemplate such a progression.
