I logged on last year and only the really popular channels I used to use were still populated, but they were practically dead and population size about that of the more niche channels (now all gone) that I used to use.

I was a dalnetafag though, might be a bit more going on over on efnet or undernet, if they still exist, would be surprised if much more though.

thing is, if you didn't use it 20 years ago you don't know any community and no one will get you in.
IRC gatekeeping is one of the worst, i understand the need of it especially now, but there is basically no point to start today unless you have IRL frens and you want to use it like a messenger

It is a badge of honor in my eyes and I've been using it. It is a bit suspicious that they offer it for free like that and they also happen to support the Chinese language, but again you lose the same amount of privacy as you would chatting exposed in any server.

Is it possible for ZNC to have seperate connections to Clearnet and TOR? For example, I have one account for Clearnet usage (Rizon, Quakenet, etc) another account for TOR but without exit node, onion servers only (OFTC, Libera.Chat, etc)
