Most likely would accept anyone with CS background if they had a poly. If its FS poly then they'd probably take anyone who had done a python course with an active FS poly. It's been over 15 years since I did a full investigation, and like 4 or so since I was last cleared, but:
1. they might do a background investigation where they will interview you, your family, your neighbors, your old coworkers, your landlords, your old friends, your old professors, your old HR department, etc...
2. They might want to know all about your financial situation. They might want you to update them on this every year too.
3. They might want your social media accounts. They didn't do this when I was last investigated, but I think they do now.
4. You will need to get permission to leave the country, and they might say no.
5. You will need to report to them if any foreigners come into your life, and they might tell you to drop that person.
Again... it all depends on what you work on. Just TS and I don't think all of that applies. But with SCI, most of it definitely does.

No its not true, in general there are so many bias that can work against you in the market right now since companies are way more strict given both the current uncertainty and how expensive it is to do anything now.

You could be getting rejected because you're overqualified, or the company doesnt feel like youll be a team player/stay long.
Could be getting rejected because the person/bot looking at your resume doesnt understand the complexity of the work you do.
Could be getting rejected because you applied for a job that was long filled but needed to be posted publicly.

The list goes on and on. I will say a smart/lucky person probably wont stay unemployed for long since they'll notice what trends are going on and adapt.
