The response of the right-wing Hindu party was to tell everyone that people should not be allowed to do that since it influences other people. Yeah, it does. It shows people that they are not alone in wanting change. Nepal has nothing to offer your letter agencies, most Nepalis don't care. The only ones that do care are running the government since they want a stronghold over the media people consume.
People use social media for more than consuming slop. I literally cannot talk to my family back home because of this. Nepal has some of the worst prices for mobile data and only Viber and TikTok are not banned. They're both absolute horseshit and are worse in regards to slop.
The liberal party that everybody flocked to started 1 month before our election and all of their campaigning was on social media. Nobody believed they'd win one seat, but they're the fourth largest party and were in the ruling coalition for a month. The current government jailed the leader on some charges while their own corruption is unpunished.
This is literally a move to stop the agitations. We had a Maoist insurgency until 2006. People are tired of killing fellow Nepalis. Destroying the entire country does nothing for Nepalis. People want democratic change.

It's not impossible, but takes significant manpower and willpower. Some villages are also just a few hundred people and the biggest parties have existing bases there. A lack of law and order means that during election time people are literally out threatening opposition candidates. You'd only need a few scores men and some modern weapons to take over the Western Hills and mountains of Nepal, which was exactly what the Maoists did.
