Both big Linux DEs are kinda fucked.
GNOME: Clearly made for itoddlers and touch interface. Unusable on desktop, worse design than Win8.
KDE:
Ugly and buggy. Bugs also tend to be ignored.
At least its usable on desktop

TPM 2.0 is only dangerous (ie capable of fingerprinting and remote attestation) if the kernel allows for it. The Windows kernel obviously does, but the Linux kernel doesn't.
