When I was in primary school I was looking through my father's books and found one about visual basic. I did not know what programming was or what compiler or ide is, but I figured out that this code is similiar to code I have seen in MS Office macros. Eventually I figured out I can use access to make forms and program them and that's where I made my first programs like a calculator, pong, etc.
Now I have comfy position where I earn several times the average pay while working 1-3h a day. And in the free time I work on hobby projects for fun.

The app I use to track calories shoehorned this feature in a few months back.
It doesn't work at all and will tell you a whole 1100 calorie plate stacked full of meat and veg ACTUALLY is only one piece of meat and one random vegetable for like 300 calories.

Had some older friends on discord who were programmers, I was about 13 or 14. I was already interested in programming, knew some C, and they were making a project so I decided to tag along. Learned Java, then got into Haskell and functional programming, then had my "radical simplicity" phase. I basically did stuff I liked and wanted to impress my friends. When I finished school I got into Uni for CS. That's basically it.
