Everything is already from China, but here we discuss the cheap chink shit you see on various sites.

You empty it out, then attach a voltmeter inbetween the charger and the battery.
As (energy = voltage * current) you just measure those two and integrate over time.
Sadly both current and voltage (to a lesser extent) fluctuate a bit over the charging process. Hence
>>106531348 as those do basically that, measure the power and then add it up over time.
The only reasonable way that doesn't require special equipment I can think of is charging the battery to full, then applying a constant power load (CPL). Something like a step-down module and then a resistor at its output or something. Then you can know it'll have a constant voltage at the output -> attach a resistor as a load and a LED in series, then calculate power draw of this circuit and measure the time until the LED turns off. That gives you the total energy expended without power losses from the step-down module.

does it work? These batteries have circuit that output constant 1.5v at all time
I think you fully charge, then use something to discharge and monitor voltage+ current until it reaches 0. But probably unreliable

If it's truly constant through a BMS, then you can just attach a resistor and a LED in series, measure the current, calculate the power draw from that (or calculating it from voltage, resistor and LED power draw) and then measure time until the LED turns off. Make sure the resistor is large enough that it doesn't get (too) hot.
>I think you fully charge, then use something to discharge and monitor voltage+ current until it reaches 0. But probably unreliable
Again, power is just voltage times current over time. As long as those measurements are correct, the result is correct. The pain in the ass is knowing when it's fully discharged, which you need the LED for.
Or use a simple arduino nano, those can measure both and a sketch that takes measurements in an interval and adds the values up is trivial. Plus it will have a auto-shutoff function then.

Basically you get points for being a good boy, engaging with the platform and, most importantly, spending money. You lose points for many disputes, being a bad boy, or shit like that. They also decay over time.
The higher the tier of goodboy points you reached, the more lenient support will be, the easier disputes go through, and you may be first in line for some coupons and shit. There were also storewide flat discounts you could get in the past for some tiers, but I think those are gone now.
TL;DR: Ali rewards you for being a good customer and punishes you for being a bad one. Chinese social credit ftw.

The people spamming the same word or sentence to get to max coin rewards, or adding images that aren't of the item as reviews should get demoted in the internal rating and fucked over. It lowers the quality of the reviews.
I bought one of those display cable converters (DP to DVI) and it only supports 640x480 it doesn't even display the model to the OS. Did I get scammed? I bought it as a replacement for a DP to VGA converter which supports up to 1600x1200 and I get monitor metadata as well through that.

If you don't care too much about it doing vacuuming and mopping you can get by fairly cheaply (the mop ability on cheap ones sucks ass). Whatever you do, it needs LIDAR or it'll be utterly shit.

These are for normies and while they measure voltage, they display on the dial/screen "battery capacity" instead, which is good as normies don't know at what voltage a AA battery is considered "empty".
My grandma won't measure voltage with a voltmeter and then learn at what voltage a battery is empty, but she will press a battery into one of these and read the results.

Another mini haul from the Back To School shit (or was it from some other recent sale I forget)
>Lii-100B battery charger
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006056362783.html
Got this to charge my flashlight battery as it was dead
Looks and feels really cheap but I assume it'll do the trick and had good reviews (from someone who reviews a ton of these 18650 battery chargers).
Has a mode for 0.5A and 1A, apparently 1A should be fine but I'm too much of a pussy.
>GuliKit ES Controller
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009714748680.html
Looks and feels great, was packaged in this weird pretty heavy duty bubble package, box still somehow got pretty crushed but the controller doesn't look like it has a scratch on it.
Comes with a pair of rubber "star design" thumbstick covers to make them convex, they seem okay but I doubt I'll use em.
It feels pretty much indistinguishable from my Series S/X controller except for two things
Resting thumb on the left side of the A button slightly touches the right stick, not sure if the button cluster is closer, the angle is different or it's because the buttons are taller but it's minor.
The sticks feel MUCH smoother and a fair bit lighter. Xbox sticks feel like they want to "stick" in the default position and once they leave it, they want to crash to the edge.
>Lucky cat car sticker
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007372351023.html
First sticker from ali that wasn't fucked, but since it has no text it's harder to fuck up, not much to say.
>My Melody cup holder coasters
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009195549740.html
Print quality is fucked on these, it looks like one of the colours was misaligned or there was a double print or some shit which makes it look blurry when you get a closer look. Probably won't be bothered asking for a refund

That second one explicitly lists the PCIe switch (Pericom PI7C9X2G608GP), and I assume the other two are using the same design. I'm not particularly familiar with your application, but I assume your reason for wanting separate controllers is not wanting to be bottlenecked, e.g., having four 5 Gbps ports, but less than 20 Gbps bandwidth to the motherboard?
If so, those cards should work (each USB controller gets its own PCIe 2.0 x1 lane, for 5 GT/s), but if I were you I'd consider a newer design with a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 (20 Gbps) port, so you can still have four 5 Gbps devices with an appropriate hub, but you also have the ability to do one 20 Gbps device, two 10 Gbps devices, one 10 Gbps device and two 5 Gbps devices, etc.
Looks like cards using an ASMedia ASM3242 are fairly common, for example, showing $29.77 for me:

- tuya/zigbee buttons
- A adjustable table lamp for 11β¬
Pictures of it all installed will follow.
In short:
Zigbee stuff all works without a hassle, all good. One of them was non-zigbee and is cold white despite me ordering warm white. Will dispute probably. The rest were all correct.
Table lamp for 11β¬ is really great, metal construction, except for the table clamp, which is cast plastic. It's easy to adjust and looks nice.
Bulbs are perfect, but for the lamp a little too large, the lampshade doesn't cover them completely. Will probably get a slightly lower powered smaller one locally instead.
The sunset lamp is neat, will post about that extra.
Here's a before and after with the stuff installed.
Left column is the before, right column is the after.
As you can see, it just makes the space seem substantially more homely, before I had the choice between too little light (just the monitor lightbar) or too much light (cold ceiling lamp that illuminates the entire room).
Now I have far more things I can control, and multiple smaller sources around the room. Much much nicer.
The lamps are:
- Desk lamp with clamp, as said in previous post, very nice value. metal construction other than the clamp itself. Looks nice and works well. Very nice for when you're working on the right side of the desk and need more light.
- 1 m zigbee COB light on the back of the monitors. Cut the 1m into two halves, then soldered some wire between them and added a solderless quick connector in between, so it's easy to disconnect if I want to get behind the monitors or something. Illuminates the back of the monitors nicely.
- 2m zigbee COB light underneath my bed. Just taped on, very easy to apply. This is both very functional so you don't hit your foot on the bed, and very nice as a background light.
- 2m zigbee COB light on the bookcase. Had to cut this one into 4 segments and solder wire between each one. Was a bit of a pain to get done, but that's not the fault of the lights, just a weird bookcase and my less than ideal solder job.
- Sunset lamp. It makes a very nice round light where the middle is reddish and the outer side more yellowish. It's not bright by any means, but if you use it as an accent or mood light, it's absolutely beautiful. The position in those images doesn't really do it justice, it's best when more diffused and illuminating the other half of the room. Really gives it a sunset/sunrise feel. For 1.45β¬ it's a steal honestly.
All of the zigbee lights are controllable (homeassistant/phone) and can be dimmed. That's also why I got those 2 zigbee buttons, to toggle all lights to desired settings from bed or desk.

Here's a pic to put just the sunset lamp into perspective. The color on the pic is a little less vibrant and seems harsher than it is IRL because phone cameras and low light images don't mix well, but as you can see in a darkened room it can throw quite a large cone. Only downside issue I see is that you need to find a place to project the light from that's ideally not at the floor as otherwise everytime you walk by you'll get blinded.
Might get a zigbee USB-A powerbrick and attach it to a cupboard/shelf, so I can toggle it from there. Very nice.

Yeah. I've had that bed for ages, it was some option at the furniture store I got it from. I don't think it has much functional or practical advantage over normal feet, it's just aesthetics. Maybe marginal differences in how it transmits vibration to the floor, but I doubt it's noticeable.

Ain't that the truth. Been there, done that. I'd say it's worth it, but I also had to do the installation and soldering in one sitting or I just know it'd end up as one of those "when I get around to it" projects and I'd not have it installed in a few months from now.

>the wheelie shelf that looks like a capsule is neat
It's an old painted oil drum with a hole in the side and shelving put in. I got it ages ago and it's been with me ever since. My room has a bit of a stylistic choice going on where I contrast nature (plants, wood) with industrial, though the industrial part you don't see in those images as well. My wardrobe for example is made from exposed metal pipes and I have most of my soldering/electronics stuff out in the open on a shelf rather than stored away. The oil barrel is a part of that industrial influence. Also why I liked the metal table lamp, it works well with that aesthetic.

Just make sure it gets enough power (if it doesn't have a PSU included) and it'll at least be decent. Really soldering irons aren't all that complex. Enough (consistent!) heat output and a tunable PID controller are about all you need.

which is even cheaper at 5β¬, but the clamp+EU plug version is out of stock on that and the stand versions are more expensive to where it evens out again. However if you need a US plug, that's still in stock, so there the coin deal would make sense.

Don't know, that's a fairly normal thing.
On the top of the lamp wouldn't make much sense, as pressure would make it change its position and it doesn't have a stand/foot that you can put the switch on either, so I suppose it makes sense. It's pretty much 3 cm from the clamp at the start of the cord, so it barely makes a difference.

But if it bothers you, get yourself something else of course. I wanted to suggest you the ikea forsa lamp which is fairly similar for 20β¬, but it has the switch on the cord too, so I'm out of ideas. If it genuinely is meant to be in a hard to reach place, get yourself a zigbee plug or something.

Interesting, if I had seen one I'd have gotten that probably.
Then again, it won't ever have to handle physical stresses and if the plastic ever gets weak from UV radiation I'll just 3D print a new one, not like it has some complex attachment mechanism, it's literally just a clamp with a hole. Might even build my own, all you'd have to do is get a metal clamp and drill a hole in the top. But I don't suspect that to be an issue within the next 5 years at the absolute minimum, so no point worrying for now.

Yes I was one of the posts I linked (specifically the one with the nightmare overlay).
Essentially though, it won't be any useful in normal lighting, either it needs to be very dim or completely dark for most splatters and dead skin. Weirdly enough some stuff like paper reflects super hard to the point where you see it at normal light levels easily, but most filth reflects less intensely. Sadly I have neither cat nor cat piss to verify for you.

Pic related is compared to my 5 year old Anker 18W 20000mAh power bank. The new one is maybe 30% thicker.
The new one comes with a charge percentage display and a built-in USB-C cable that also doubles as an adjustable lanyard loop. It also has a separate USB-C port and USB-A port.
Used it to slowly charge my laptop that came with a 65W charger and only noticed the area near the USB ports got warm. Presumably it was outputting the full 45W because my laptop gained battery charge during light use albeit slowly.

> Brake pads
Even from the photo, they look plastic-y. Hope you will not regret this, but take this from somebody who rides bikes my whole life. There are a number of things in a bike that are absolutely not worth cheaping out on, in order of importance:
> front end (stem, bar)
It breaks -- you're in the hospital with a head and face injury (see AVA, ATAX, Pivo stems; Spynergy lawsuit, webm related, etc)
> saddle
It's your ass, and it has to be comfortable. I found my preferred one after probably two to three dozen tried saddles.
> brake pads and rotors
Even shit brake pads will stop you eventually, but since brakes are more or less the only safety feature of the bike (the rest is entirely on you -- be aware, react quickly, wear a helmet), you really want these to work as good as they possibly can. Next time, splurge out on a set of KoolStops.

They (group in the video) just finished the race, and the guy in pink -- seemingly a club leader or a coach -- berates them for not using a "dancer" technique -- when you get out of the saddle and put the full power down, while swaying the bike left and right between your legs. He asks: what are you afraid of? Are you afraid of breaking your handlebar? Guy behind the camera answers that yes, he is. Pink guy says that you will never in your life break a bar and immediately proceeds to break it. After looking at it for a second he concludes that "yeah, you were right about that".
That's the consequences of buying cheap chink carbon parts OR overtorqueing any carbon bar clamp.

Even then looking through UCI equipment spreadsheet for latest Olympics, there are framesets (frame + fork) as cheap as 1400 EUR, bars as cheap as 35, wheelset for 2K and my favorite -- EUR 5.11 gloves.

I mean you can get a new bike for 150-200$ from walmart, for 200-300$ you can get a ozark trail or something, which will actually be pretty good.
Used bikes start around 30$, so even if you factor in new tubes and some gear to service it you can end up under 75$.
And that's the US market, which is comparatively giga fucked, in europe you can get by even cheaper. Cycling is only expensive if you let it be.

Can confirm. Got myself a sweet gravel/touring double butted CrMo steel bike, with 105 7000 group, BB5 brakes, CNCed cranks and even new Flite saddle for about $350. Put a couple of thousand km on it already, only things I replaced were a chain, chainring (got it from Ali, actually) and tires for something wider and faster.
Well that sucks, the ceramic blade replacement I bough for my T9 trimmer doesn't fit (the gold bar should be in-between the white bits)
Did I buy I dodgy replacement or is my trimmer just non-standard?

yeah now that I look at the picture closer I can see the blade isn't aligned the guard.

Fishing rod came in. Motherfucking 16β¬ for the rod, 3 different hardness tips and 3 replacement tips. Unreal.
The fit is good, though the last hole at the tip and the tips is a bit tight. Not so bad you can't use it, but too tight tolerances for sure. It's very light (to the point where you question if it'll be long lived), but seems decently well made. The rings are attached well, nothing is cracked or damaged.
Overall, it feels like a lower mid-market rod for less than entry level prices. Given the price, it's an absolute steal. Would make for a great rod for a kid or someone trying fishing out without knowing what exactly they want yet.
I've got some stuff going on at the moment, so no idea when I'll get out to the water next, but I'll post a review when I do. There's a decent chance I manage to go fishin' around the 20th, but if that doesn't work out it might not be for a while.

You can consider the mi pad SE for slightly cheaper, or the redmi pad 2 (haven't looked into that one, but it is newer).
If you really just want to do reading and pdfs, they are slightly too powerful for what you're asking, but they have great active pens, are a joy to use, and won't struggle with lighter to medium workflows.

Can anyone recommend me a hygro- and thermometer?
Iβve got the OG Xiameme miha ones, round and running on AAA batteries, but theyβre long discontinued. And their predecessor runs on button cells and has some stupid cutesy smiley face.
Whatβs a basic, good enough alternative? Preferably with a similar design, but thatβs optional, as long as it doesnβt look like shit.

>Can anyone recommend me a hygro- and thermometer?
Thermometer is trivial, hygrometer is the issue, they are all fairly inaccurate. Enough to know when a room is in the mold danger zone, but other than that don't put too much trust in the readings.
You essentially have 3.5 options:
>xiaomi ones, use button cells, small and rectangular.
>knockoff ones, same design, same button cells, many come without the smiley face. I had both and they were close enough in their readings, so probably fine, though with knockoffs of course you can get unlucky easier.
>Analog ones, these are the ones I like the most as they don't need a battery. They're mildly less accurate than the digital ones, but as I already said the digital ones shouldn't be trusted either, so in my opinion the upside of no battery outweighs the downside of slightly less accuracy.
Another anon asked about them so I took a photo of some of mine in
>>106421415 . Should be somewhere between 1.50 and 2.50 in the bundles section.
(In that same thread an anon also asked about a hygrometer that used solar instead of a battery, but no-one could say how good or bad it was, hence it only counts as half a option)

Is there a limit to how many coins I can use on aliexpress ? Aliexpress is letting me use 10k coins, albeit the order is rather pricey so itβs not per order but rather per item ?

Not that I'm aware of. How many coins per item you can use depends on the settings of the item. Some items you can barely use coins with, others you can go hard.
At 10k coins, make sure the item isn't priced up to high hell.

It took another 45 minutes until it actually showed up.
Just finished setting it up and taking it for a test run.
I have to say the lumbar stretch gimick is actually pretty sweet.
Overall the 4 different positions it can be set to are pretty great, though I see myself mostly using the 2nd of 4 positions, slightly reclained, but still upright and able to easily reach keyboard/mouse.

Yeah I thought it would just be a little push on your back or something, but it's got some nice stretch to it that feels great.
It's very smooth transitioning from reclined to upright as well, not jarring or jolting.
So far the cushions seem fantastic, but obviously, time is the only true test on that front.

Yeah I've made some bad experiences with cushions in the past, so I only use mesh seating, but you sent me that one youtube video when you bought the chair and the guy seemed to know what he was talking about and seemed to have somewhat of a decent amount of trust in the material, so I'm hoping it'll be lasting.

Bought chink stand fan
DC motor, 7 speeds from whisper to fuck you.
The entire thing is made of plastic but it's not as flimsy as expected. The base is really light though, I imagine this thing would tip over easily.
Height is adjustable from 80cm to 1m. 80cm is just about low enough for a bedroom which is why I got this one.
It's not loud but the noise it makes is different from normal fans. Higher in pitch, kinda like white noise.
The remote is tiny. It sucks but it works, meh.
7 speeds but only 3 indicators means you get to do binary math whenever you want to know what speed it's at. Don't forget your sunglasses though because the LEDs are eye searingly bright for some reason.
Stock photo because I'm too lazy for pics rn.

I was considering buying this chair, but then I got a youtube video recommendation of some guy who broke the arm rest several times due to objectively bad design. EM wanted him to bring the chair to a repair center, or pay $100 to send a technician.. The guy ended 3D printing a replacement instead.
Goes to show how much the 12-year warranty is worth. Decided to go with the chink libernovo instead.

Some threads ago an anon said his (de)magnetizer was labelled backwards. I said no I have that thing and it's correct. And I was sure because I've used it quite a bit on many different screwdrivers.
Since then I've had a screwdriver set that has the opposite effect
The demagnetizer makes it more magnetic.
The magnetizer reduces its magnetism.
I guess that anon had similarly types of screwdrivers. So first of all I apologize to that anon. Second of all we're going need a magician or something to explain this.

Got one of them wushu shoes too. Interesting feeling, they're very, very flexible. Not exactly like walking barefoot, but they offer little to no support anywhere. Not exactly the greatest choice for riding a bike, which I wanted from them. Maybe with a larger pedal platform and more aggressive spikes it would be better.
Changed into slippers once I got home and got that feeling stepping on shit -- the contrast between paper-thin wushu soles and regular slippers is very noticeable. Laces also don't go too high, which contributes to the feeling of freedom.
Size table is more or less true to size -- 45 is claimed to be 27.5cm, which is my size, and they fit just great.
tl;dr: very light shoes with a very flexible and thin sole, offer a great freedom of movement and no support anywhere. Consult the size table chinaman provides and order accordingly to your foot length.
