I remember reading the kali linux documentation. Almost all password retrieval tools are designed for windows. It's much harder for linux.
Though once you retrieve the actual hashed file then the source OS doesn't matter, mac, linux and windows are the same after that point.

Never forget the recent Debian backdoor that fucked up and jeopardized tons of systems and revealed Linux is not as secure as people thought.
That was only once though, while Windows has many similar cases happening every now and then.
MacOS though? Secure. Stable as a rock. No catastrophic security failures. Mac chads stay winning.

All of these "nothing works on Linux" memes have been made by people who are too comfortable with the boundaries of propietary software and assume that Linux is just another OS to use for the software they already know. That's the biggest difference; yes, GNU/Linux is an OS, but you'll have to relearn a lot of things (that's the point where most people give up and return to their proprietary stuff) and once you do, you'll see Windows, MacOS and Free Software in a very different light.

You expect Linux to be a drop-in replacement for Windows, but that's not what Linux is.

7 years ago? That's when Apple was making shitty phones and shitty macbooks. The iPod Classic is pretty cool for its time but it's more of a novelty than a good, usable product nowadays. Now is the best time for a complete set of iPhone + Macbook + Airpod Pros. They're so far ahead of the competition. Had an iphone 6S back in the day and it was terrible. And tried a Mac Mini years ago too, hated that shit. But nowadays? Just great great great. Worth the money.
