This is good news for Soulseek users. It's another route for lossless or high bitrate songs to end up on the network.
It'll be like Deezloader, but more songs to choose from, and a wider userbase that gives a shit to keep it functioning and use their tokens.

Lossless audio is snake oil. It's only good for archiving purposes so you can keep transcoding your files to any format from a lossless source. Worthless if you don't own the files.

There is no perceivable difference between lossy and lossless if the lossy format is properly encoded. You probably think you can tell the difference. Then do a blind comparison using foobar2000 + foo_abx extension and post results. Protip: you can't.

I didn't say Spotify doesn't pay, they just don't value quality over quantity.
Spotify pays by the minute regardless what the content is.
Some of the biggest earners on Spotify made literal pink noise: it sounds like rain and people like sleeping to it so they "listen" to pink noise for 8 hours every night.

You are repeating the same old dishonest lies.
https://www.albumofrecord.com/p/apple-music-is-extracting-more-money

The fact is that the payout percentage is what matters and Spotify pays out 70% while Apple Music pays out 52%. Spotify has more subscribers in poorer countries like India and Brazil, have a free tier (where the payout ratio still is 70%), and Spotify users are more active. That explains the payout-per-stream number. But that doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is the payout percentage.

But apple shills love to lie 24/7.

No it isn't.

If someone listens to rain for 8 hours a day and music for 2 hours a day then music artists only get 20% of that 70%.
And if someone makes AI slop and then has botnets listening to their slop 24/7 they soak up even more of that 70%.

Good luck with your 2 minute song you worked months on vs 1440 minutes of "KGRRRRRRRRRR BEEP BEEP" running on 50.000 servers 7 days a week.
