Are they planning to get an OEM to start up LGA1200 mb production again?
there is only 1 (one) affordable LGA1200 board available new and it is probably old stock

Did we time leaped back to 2020?

Not only that, LGA1200 coolers would need to be produced again, not that they aren't widely available, but a lot of the non-tower options (stuff like the arctic alpine 12 line) are discontinued.

Why are you stupid autist surprised about this? It is well know fact semiconductor industry that when you release a new product (say a new gen), you don't stop production immediately; instead, you keep selling it at a discount, or in third world shitholes. Everyone does this: Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, Mediatek, even Apple does it (where do you think Best Buy gets those M1s at $600?)
Now, another fact that you didn't know... Intel has kept producing i5 10400s for a very long time

I forgot to add this pic from AliExpress. You can see on the numbers printed, the first number after the letter is the year of production, so X5 means produced in 2025.
Something I find funny about this: if AMD does this sort of refresh, it is called "platform longevity"; if Intel does it, it is a turd that is not worth buying.

the 10400 is still a great CPU, but trying to sell it as a rebranded Core i5 110 for 200 is to much, the 10400 is like 150 by now.

Nope, they are just going to shove the chips into an adapter board, like they did with skylake dies when x299 just released. There was a huge shitstorm about Intel releasing these shitty 20 pcie lane cpus on the HEDT platform.

I agree that the renaming is dumb af, but I can find 10400s on AliExpress at $80.
Also, ignore that fake MSRP, it is there so that bulk buy contracts get a 'better' deal. I can bet you that those chips are OEM/huge orders only.

forget the 10400, the 12400 is below $150
