Speaking of, is there a preset randomizer for some workhorse synth? (Zebra, Pigments, Current, etc. not Serum though I don't have it (overrated shit lol)) In some cases I feel it would be quicker to hit randomize a bunch of times than preset browsing

I thought music would be a good hobby and while I have made good progress on piano and guitar, on the producing side I have been at it for two years and a half and all I have to show for it are a handful of mediocre 8 or 16 bar loops. I think I just don't have it in me to compose and produce original music. When I try to critically listen to a multilayered song I enjoy to try to understand it I can't even get close to copying the sounds on my synths and I can't begin to understand how they managed to put together so many sounds and melodies at the same time and manage to make it sound like a beautiful wall of sound instead of a muddy dissonant mess. In this regard I'm like a monkey pondering how humans made those big buildings in front of his cage. No matter how much he wonders he'll never grasp it. I'm quick at picking up instruments and I also mixed some songs and they came out nicely. I suppose I have to accept I don't have the creativity or the mind of an artist, my strengths are definitely more practical or mechanical. I'm pretty bummed about it though.
Thanks for reading my blog

you cant depend on your dna to magically know how to do complicated shit, challenge yourself to make a whole song from start to finish as fast as you can with minimal instrumentation then do it a few times again before coming back to it to fuck around with layering, get used to making a whole song and the creative parts of your brain will get used to being creative in the middle of working on it

Ok I gotta admit that those loops never get turned into full songs because they are never "good enough" but you are like the third person that tells me the same thing and just finish the damn song so I'm going to push with that, thanks for your input anon

it's a matter of desire, good shit comes from the deep desire to realise something you hear in your soul and want to come out. Most musicians are performers since they already have what they want to hear written by someone else anyway.

1 min in, pretty good so far, starts off a bit sudden though
2 min in, getting a bit too repetitive for trance
3 min in, the new sounds are pretty good, though probably could have been introduced earlier with more progressive variations
4 min in, uh... you call that a breakdown section?
5 min in, the sound after your little "drop" was good
ending was fine, though could have eased out of it a bit more gradually

Overall, pretty good, needs a breakdown to really be trance though. There is a feeling of progression throughout, but could be a bit more... idk what word to use... organized, I guess. Felt a bit random, not like it was building up to something

who the fuck keeps obsessing over troonce? Like yeah yeah we had the theme already but someone just won't stfu about it? It's a mid genre that existed and disappeared similar to dubstep fad because it is a fad and not something meant to endure. It's too simple to be considered art and too repetitive to grow and innovate.

We got like maybe 10% of dmp users who could actually innovate and understand music while the rest are a bunch of "le babbys first rebellious musician" zoomers who never heard real music and try to frootiger faggaero themselves into being "trendy" by obsessing over obsolete themes and genres such as trance and dubstep.

Have you listened to trance over the past 30 years? I mean like tracks from different periods? There's been a lot of evolution and it continues to grow. It's making a comeback because everyone is realizing it's one of two ideal templates for dance music. (the other being house)
