Apple Vision Pro
>here's our state of the art VR headset!
>release no content whatsoever
>no VR movies, games, experiences, VR Chat, nothing.
>cockblock VR enthusiasts from using it outside their walled garden
what the actual fuck was the point in this?

They nailed the design tho.
Such a waste of good design.

I've tried one and the display is stunning, as a VR enjoyer I'd get this shit in a heartbeat if it was PC friendly

It is a complete and utter failure of design on every level other than being a movie prop.
The headstrap is shit, it's too heavy for the shit headstrap and the front screen is a shit idea.

It's a halo effect/aspirational product
It's not meant to be mainstream or even usable. It's just meant to make applel seem advanced.
Hopefully Deckard/Steam Frame will be something actually useful for maid computing.

So what your saying is they've got the same problem Sony has?
What a shame, if only they open sourced it so more developers would flock to their VR/AR headset, Apple would unironically start crushing the competition if they weren't retarded.

Sony made the PSVR2 PC compatible
Anonymous No.106568039
You can actually use it in VRchat (and presumably other VR games) if you get a dev account and load the appropriate experiemtnal software. I can't remember what it's called but it's doable.

They did? Huh I might actually have a reason to buy one then if it ever drops in price when they get ready to release PS6.
I'm gonna go confirm that myself but neat if true.

You need a little box to convert the PS2VR headset output to a DP/HDMI but yes it works. People have even gotten eyetracking working too. Used PS2VR headsets go for like $300.

This is unironically the most disgraceful post-Jobs Apple product. Jobs would never have released anything like this.

No, he really, literally wouldn't .
Not the man's biggest fan either, but he'd have booted cunts right round The Ring for presenting him with this trash.

Exactly. Pretty much all of his products were designed so they could be useful for everyone to solve their problems. This VR headset is a literal tech demo that solves no problem. It's not a complete product, and it's definitely not for a wide audience.

If you have to explain or it can be misunderstood, the product is already garbage. Old Apple used to understand this, nu-Apple and freetards don't understand it.

Placating investors who were breathing down their necks because Meta was seemingly making a play for the entire XR space and they'd run out the clock on their "delay so no one copies out innovations" strategy. The entire point was to release a device that could conceivably seen as their "real" entry into XR but actually have nothing new in it to be poached.
Basically they've held back the industry for a decade and half.
