The death of consensus killed social norms, not social media. Social media it's just the various beer halls in which disaffected young people congregate. Shutting down the beer hall won't solve the problem. What's needed is a new consensus, a new set of values that are communicated through myths that are believable in AD 2025, and that is a far more difficult project than shutting down people's ability to communicate. In fact, clamping down on social media will probably only delay a real solution, because people won't be able to communicate freely and without consequence
